Our seats were on the lawn (originally...) and we settled in for the opening acts Saosin and Taking Back Sunday. We decided right away that the man guarding the door to the main seating area was our target and we made a pact to try and sneak closer to the stage before the end of the night!
During the opening acts we ran into my friend and sorority sister Courney and her boyfriend Jeff which was an awesome surprise! We all joked that sitting/standing on the steep hill at Artpark was like a workout...not kidding. My legs were actually sore the next day.
Imagine there are about 4 songs left in Dashboard's set (plus an encore). We had made our way down a bit closer and Sammi went to check out the view from the entrance to the main seating area. To our surprise, the door man had abandoned his post! This was our chance...Sammi lead the way (rebel!!!) and we made it to -- get this -- the front row! We were fan girling so hard at this point that I didn't even get a photo.
For the encore we asked a security guard if we could head into the pit area and it must have been our lucky night because he said yes! I touched the stage, Chris Carrabba totally saw us and smiled *swoon* and we were instantly transported back to our emo high school selves.
We had an amazing night out - thank you, Artpark! Let the summer concert craziness begin!
